IE7 Finally Launched
October 19th, 2006
The long awaited Internet Explorer 7 was finally launched today, showcasing promised features including tab browsing, rss feed reading, external modules/plugins as well as claimed improved security. On terms of layout, IE7 continues with the new ‘glossy’-textured user interface started off in MSN messenger live, in preparation for the launch of Windows Vista sometime in the distant future. However functionality-wise, all of its new ‘features’ seems to be copied straight out of a mozilla firefox. Also, I’m not sure whether it’s just my settings or the program itself, but the URL bar now seems to be stuck to the very top of the IE browser, and it is rather user-unfriendly.
Again with the new IE7, the Zune, Soapbox… it seems as if Microsoft is again doing what it does best, copying from its competitors.
Download the installation pack for IE7 here.
*Extra* The funniest thing about it is this -> checkout http://www.ie7.com/. Seems like Microsoft got the domain name too late.
